ocean in a kiddie pool

it has been so hot here the past couple of days so taking the kids to the park has been out of the question. but they were beginning to get restless so i decided to use my noodle and give the day a theme. they liked the idea of bringing the ocean to the backyard so that is what we did.

i made them a little canopy with an old sheet, curling ribbon and some clothes pins. then i filled their pool and dyed the water blue. then we got goggles, tubes and a hula girl (bella) and we were ready to go!

they had loads of fun and all three of them played for over 3 hours!!! i actually got to watch a movie all by myself. a real movie, not a cartoon! okay im back, i got a little excited there!

sidewalk chalk paint

the twins wanted to do something different so I made them some sidewalk chalk paint and they loved it!
mix a cup of water, a cup of cornstarch and food coloring gels. that is it and they had so much fun. afterwards we turned on the sprinkler and got everything including them washed up.
another summer day activity for the books... or the blog, whatever!!

bella's first sidewalk chalk

bella finally got to sidewalk chalk with her brothers the other day and boy did she have fun. i can't even begin to tell you how hot it was outside but she wanted to stay outside with the twins. she finally wanted to stop when she discovered her hands were dirty... after like an hour and a half of playing!! she is getting so big! her cheeks were so red. the bottom pic is of her drinking her water out of her big girl cup!  btw, i just realized her hair is done just like the little girl on her shirt!! ha ha

Lincoln Logs

hours and hours of fun! joaquin can play with these things all day and never get bored. he is so great at making little towns and ranches!

summer signs

i painted a few more store windows this week. it was too hot to do it during the day, so i was up around 5:30 and 6:00am painting them! the store owner was happy with them so it worked out. i just wanted to share!

fun in the sun

Sprinkler fun…CHECK!!!!
there is a little splash pad by my moms new house so she invited us to go out there. the kids had tons of fun. it was just right for bella to be walking around, henry carried her and ethan into the big kids sprinkler and they were both like, "ummm, lets NOT do that again!!" ha ha

Their First Astros Game

Astros Game…CHECK!!!!
The twins were super excited to go see the Astros play! they had a great time especially since dad spoiled them with their own personal pizza, ice cream in a hat and their first official baseball caps!
not to mention the Astros beat the Rangers!! ha ha

can you smell the sunscreen?

the twins decided they wanted to make a summer chart and document all the things they want to do during their first summer! i am not sure we will be able to swing everything but we will give it a go!
some of the things are small everyday things and some are a little bit pricier so we will see. as we do them they get to mark them off at the end of each day. here is their list in no particular order...

stay up late, backyard camping, water balloon fight, family board games, lazy day, backwards day, see the sunset, see the sunrise, make smores, have a picnic, make popsicles,go to the movies, go to the drive in, make pizzas, go to the museum, go to the zoo, go to the old macdonald farm, go bowling, go swimming, fly kites, pop fireworks, have a sleepover, family movie night, go out to family dinner, go to an astros game, bliw bubble, ride bikes, rife scooters, do sidewalk chalk, do crafts, get snowcones, playdates with friends, sleepover with grandparents, sprinkler fun, computer games.

as you can see i have my work cut out for me!! ha ha
anyway here is to a great summer!

Kindergarten Graduation Part 2

Maverick had a small part in one of the songs! he practiced everyday and then he nailed it! ha ha
he got a taste of the stage and he loved it! my little movie star!!

Kindergarten Graduation Part 1

The kindergarteners had a cute program with songs and poems and dances! it was awesome!
i was so sad and so proud of them!
my mom, raquel, henry and i made 112 of those hats from scratch by the way!
they came out great and everyone loved them!

Last Day Of Kindergarten

The twins had mixed feeling about this day. They really love their teachers and were sad about not seeing them over the summer. they look so cute and grown up! i love to look and this pic and the one of their first day below! ha ha

Super Kids Day Part 3

Then the twins wanted to get into these hamster wheel type things and it was hilarious! maverick almost took out a group of teachers and joaquin almost ran over a little girl! they want us to buy some so they can play in the back yard with them!! ha ha

Super Kids Day Part 2

The twins decided they wanted to do this parachute race! I wasn't sure they could do it, but man they took off and those things came up off the ground quick! the coach that was watching them said it was rare for little kindergartners to do that since it gets heavier as the parachutes catch air! But look at my babies go!! they are getting sooooo big and strong!!!

Super Kids Day Part 1

Super Kids Day was a lot of fun! they had all kinds of activities set up for the kids! the twins didn't know where to start! the top pic of maverick with his BFF Gracie, the next one is of the twins munching out on nachos and hot dogs at 9 o'clock in the morning! ha ha Joaquin is having his first soda in that pic, he was pretty excited that he got to drink a Sprite! he he The last two pix are of the twins sprinting by as they completed an obstacle course!! they were really fast!!
